Dearest Caroline, Friendship is a very special gift and how I have loved and flourished with yours! You have been my best friend for most of my life. Loving, supportive, loyal and unconditional from when we first met in 1982 as undergraduates, to extending that same level of love, support and encouragement to my son - your and Richard's godson - in his own university applications, just days before you passed away. Thank you for your friendship, your kindness, your generosity. For your loyalty, your support, your love and ... for being my friend. You have brought many people much happiness. You have been one of the most important people in my life; your friendship has meant the world to me and I have been so lucky to have known you. I shall treasure you in my heart, always.
