Like everyone else in the School, the Faculty and beyond, I was very taken aback to learn about Caroline's illness and death at what seems like such a young age. She was a wise, pleasant, patient, and collegial presence in Woodland Road. The last time I saw her was probably when she acted as orator for the honorary degree awarded to the inspirational Baroness Amos. Thanks for that, Caroline, and thanks too for being such a supportive and kind colleague over the last couple of decades. Judith Bryce
