Very sad to read this. I will remember our marathon sessions with Ed Countryman and Tony Macfarlane engaging with the literature on resistance and rebellion in the colonial Americas back in the mid eighties. Tupac Amaru and the Green Mountain Boys were our compadres as we learnt to bob and weave in the historian’s ring. I am sorry we didn’t keep in touch as I crossed the ocean to pursue my studies, but am cheered to read of your generous and productive life in the testimonials below.
