Caroline Williams, 1962 - 2019

I knew Caroline only briefly, but long enough to understand how valued, respected and loved she was in our department and in the wider university community. She was unfailingly supportive as I got used to my new post, reminiscing over the pressures of lecture-writing and always reassuring me that things would turn out alright. A conversation with Caroline always left me with a smile on my face. Her dedication, scholarly rigour and kindness will be sorely missed
