Bradley 28th August 2019

Caroline represented the best of our community: a rigorous scholar, a committed teacher, and an indefatigably collegial member of the team whose compassion and poise would always bring a reassuring presence into any environment or situation. Of the various fond memories I have during the 13 years in which I was fortunate enough to work with her, I will always remember a winter's night when Bristol's buses had been gridlocked in the city centre and the two of us -- having happened upon one another by chance -- shared a cab home instead. It had been a particularly long day, but Caroline's company and her humour warmed up the cold evening and helped to draw a welcome line under the previous nine or so hours. She will be sorely missed and rightly mourned by us all, and my thoughts are with her family and her HiPLA colleagues. Thank you, Caroline. -Bradley
